Arrive with an idea. Leave with the work.
The Farm is a destination envisioned for musicians, filmmakers, artists, writers, and production teams who need time, privacy, and every essential creative resource in one place.
Some work needs more than a studio.
It needs distance from routine. Time to think. Room to experiment. The freedom to follow an idea without watching the clock.
The Farm is being created as a complete working retreat where artists can record, film, edit, rehearse, build, perform, eat, rest, and begin again—all without leaving the property.
No commute between the work and the life surrounding it. No unnecessary audience. No interruption.
Just the people, the place, and the project.
Everything the work requires.
Each part of The Farm supports the creative process—and remains useful throughout the year.

The signature Farm experience is a bespoke private residency designed around one artist, team, or project.
A band could arrive with unfinished songs and leave with a completed album. A filmmaker could develop, produce, and finish a project within one private campus. A creative team could remove itself from daily noise long enough to discover what comes next.
Each residency can combine private accommodations, discreet access, production environments, technical support, meals, hospitality, and use of the property’s gathering spaces.

Designed for the entire process.
Creativity rarely moves in a straight line. A day at The Farm might begin in the recording studio, move outdoors for a walk, continue over a shared meal, and end with an impromptu performance in the lounge.
The spaces are intentionally connected so that working, resting, and experiencing the property become parts of the same creative rhythm.
You are not simply renting a room. You are entering an environment built to help something happen.

Far enough away to disappear. Close enough to begin.
West Virginia offers something an urban studio cannot manufacture: room. Room to work without distraction. Room to move without being watched. Room to hear yourself think.
The landscape is not decoration surrounding The Farm. It is part of the experience.
Experience the Setting→A working vision—not an empty promise.
The Farm is the vision of Jonathan and Amy Defibaugh.
Jonathan has worked in media production since 2001, founded MOVID Studios in 2011, earned three Telly Awards, and has managed the continuing redevelopment of an 800,000-square-foot former hospital campus since 2016.
The Farm brings those worlds together: creative production, complex property development, hospitality, events, and the belief that West Virginia can become the setting for ambitious work.
